Grandma Irene...

I knew my grandma wasn't doing very well (she was 94) and that her days were numbered. I got a call from my grandpa saying that grandma Irene was in a coma. I took it really hard knowing how close i was to my family down in Baltimore and her of course. I cried all day Saturday knowing that she wasn't going to make it. I didn't even color Easter eggs :( My dad kept saying "maybe she'll come out of it". But i knew the truth..

Sunday morning i was getting ready for church when my parents called my into the computer room and told me grandma Irene had passed away. I was furious with god like REALLY GOD you couldn't have waited one day. I was so mad, but my mom kept telling me "how special is it that she gets to go to heaven they same day we celebrate Jesus going to heaven." i thought about it and realized god knows best, and god is good and FAITHFUL! He knew exactly what he was doing, taking her out of her misery not knowing who she was, where she was, or who her family was. I guess i was just being selfish :( But tomorrow I'm flying down to Baltimore with my dad to spend time with my family and talk about how amazing, funny, caring, and god like she really was!

She's in heaven with her husband, her children, family, and now knows who she is & I'm so blessed she was in my life and that i have another angel watching over me  :)

Rough Days..?

Ever have those reaaalllyyy bad days where nothing seems to be going right, and you keep praying to god asking "WHY ME?!" I know there is a reason for everything but god can you please show me now instead of waiting days/months/years... Fighting and realizing alcohol makes relationships go south, realizing your NOT as pretty as the girls on the Internet, or finally having it set in that i will NEVER see my grandma alive because shes in a coma in Maryland :(

I'm not as pretty as these girls...

 I don't have a perfect face or makeup...

 Perfect hair? FAR from it..

 Do i seriously need to dress like a slut to make me feel better?

 The only way to get a flat stomach like this for me is to stop eating. completely.

....

I miss my grandma :(

I miss having a good relationship with my boyfriend.

God made me perfect? But somehow my feelings about myself over weigh his.. and I'm not sure how to change that.

I'v Been Thinking...

Have you ever stepped out to pursue a dream in your heart and then became overwhelmed by it, wondering if you were equipped or qualified to pull it off? Most everyone has been there. In fact, many of the great men and women of the Bible struggled with the same issue.

For example, so often when people think of Moses, they remember him as the great spiritual giant who led the Israelites out of captivity, but did you know that Moses doubted himself? He didn’t feel equipped all the time. In fact, he was self-conscious because he had a stuttering problem. But God simply said to him, “Moses, what do you have in your hand?” In the next few moments, God showed Moses that it didn’t matter what he thought he needed; the God of the universe had already equipped him with everything he needed to accomplish his destiny.

Today, the same is true for you. God will place in your hand whatever you need in order to fulfill your purpose in this life. The challenge most people face is that they have the tendency to hold on to things that God never intended for them to hold on to. When your hands are full of other things, it’s difficult to embrace what God has for you.

People fill their hands with lots of good things; they take on noteworthy obligations and fill their arms with impressive accomplishments. But “good” can be the enemy of “best.” That’s why we have to constantly evaluate what’s in our hands and be willing to let go of some things so we can take hold of what God has for us.

Today, are you holding on to something that know you need to let go of in order to make room for what God is trying to do in your life? Is your schedule overloaded? Are you clinging to a relationship that you know is destructive? Are your thoughts consumed with a situation from your past? You might even be holding on to something good, but good things can also keep our hands too full to embrace God’s very best. I encourage you to take some time and evaluate what you have in your hands. Be willing to let go of anything that is keeping you from God’s best. Make room for what He has for you, knowing that He is ready to bless you and equip you to fulfill the destiny He has placed in your heart.

Mama's Birthday Weekend!

This weekend was my mama's birthday! :) I had school off on friday so we went down to the The Refinery to get facials.. SO nice! Then we met my dad down town at rock bottom cafe for lunch! YUMMY!

Later that night we went rollerblading at the metrodome! {you can go and rollerblade around the field where the consessions are} It was a lot of fun!

Thank You Thursday & Happy Birthday Sissy! :)

There is SO much to be thankful for today (and every other day!)

But today i am thankful for these things..

I'm thankful for my sister CALLIE! :) It's her birthday! She is 14 today..Wow! :) I love you so much and i love your love for Jesus. It's so cool to see you trust in him for everything! I pray everyday that you continue to love him and praise his name! happy birthday sweetie!

The second thing i am thankful for is my awesome daddy! He got his dream job yesterday! He got a position downtown so he won't have to drive an hour and half to Plymouth everyday! PLUS my grandpa use to work there so its 2 generations there! He is so happy & so proud of him! God is truly faithful & amazing :)

The third thing i am thankful for is my beautiful friend Leah!! She got out of the hospital today from being in there for a month! I'm so proud of her for seeking help when she needed it and I'm so excited for what her future is going to be and for what god is going to do. i can't wait! I love you best friend! <3

Devotion Day 1: God Is Able

I started reading this awesome devotional book! I decided that i would blog about each day that i read it & i would post a song that reminds me of the devotion of the day.

Today talks about what god can do.. or better yet, what god CAN'T do. A lot of times in life we push god on the back burner and he fades in our life. We need to remember the description that apostle Paul gives us about how great our god is and about all the things he CAN do.

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." -Ephesians 3:20

The song below by Francesca Battistelli reminds me of how our god loves us SO much that he will do anything for us.

My Weekend [In Picturess]

THURSDAY:

I went to the varsity basketball game against st. Francis. again.. WE WON :) It was such a good game we scored the winning point with 17 seconds left of the game!

FRIDAY:

During the day my mama & i went to stillwater to go prom dress shopping & to have lunch :)

I got a black prom dress, but its a surprise so i cant show pictures!

Friday night i went to the gopher hockey game with my friend Kelsey [like always] WE WON! :)

SATURDAY:

It was my daddy's birthday! He's 43.. I know, young parents right?! Lol. We made him french toast for breakfast then went to Lifeway christian store in maple grove..I got this devotional journal, i LOVE it.

After we went to see "The adventures of Tin Tin" [It was the only PG show that my younger sister could see] But it was really good actually! After we went to Big Bowl [at the rosedale mall] for dinner with my grandparents, then we went back home for chocolate cake :)



Today is a girls day with mama & my sister! My dad is on a business thing for a few days..

Weekend Recap...Sort of..

I finally got my winter senior pictures done! I've been waiting for some snow (since this is Minnesota) but the weather just isn't having it. So i was super excited to finally get some! My amazing friend Brooke took them! It was so cold out too, like 0 degrees.. but it was totally worth it!

I could seriously go on forever about my weekend.. But it's finals week so i need to go back to studying :/

Empower 2012 & God's Presence!

This weekend was wonderful! Me and my mama went to the empower conference at edinbrook church on Saturday! It was so good to feel god's presence with me the whole time!

We started out the day leaving our house at 7:30 listening to 98.5 {Christian channel}

I learned SO much from this retreat on now i can strengthen my relationship with god. Yesterday my mama asked me to do the dishes.. My first thought was "oh my gosh NOO" but then i quickly remembered that every little chance i get alone is a chance for me to talk to god. So i plugged in my ipod and listened to christian music & talked to him about what i was going to do better in my life. After it was done i was wishing i had more dishes to do! :)

Also, before i go, my beautiful best friend is in the hospital. Prayers for her would be AWESOME! <3

Finally friday!

1. One of my favorite things to do when I have free time is.. To SLEEP (:, blog & play with my puppy

2. When I have free time I tend to sleep. haha, read my bible (: pray and sleep a little more!

3. If I had an entire day completely to myself I would spend the day relaxing, getting stuff that needs to be done (maybe? :)), watching friends, the hills, and random tv shows.

4. Would you rather spend your free time alone or with people?personally i like to be alone or with one other person, i don't like big groups of people.

5. Most of my free time happens after school if i don't have to work, on wednesday when my parents go grocery shopping & my sister is at religion class, and saturdays (:

6. The best thing about free time is ITS FREE! I don't have to worry about anything.

7. The next time I have free time I should probably get some of that homework done,but instead, I'll probably procrastonat and sleep (:
